The Lagos State Waterways Authority on Thursday said it had recovered the remains of two passengers involved in a boat accident in the Ojo area of the state.
Two passenger speedboats had a head-on collision in the Irewe community in an accident reportedly caused by recklessness and speeding.
Of the 18 passengers in the boats, 13 were rescued alive, while three were confirmed died.
However, two passengers could not be accounted for.
The General Manager of LASWA, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, said the bodies were found around 8.30am on Thursday.
“It was a joint collaborative search and rescue, involving community efforts. The bodies have been handed over to their families,” he said.
