Lagos Fire Boss Kidnap: Fear Grips Family, Co-workers 48hrs After

Yesterday, gripped family members of the Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau, and six others who were abducted by gunmen last Saturday.

When Journalist visited the secretariat of the Lagos Fire Service in Alausa, firemen were seen expressing concern over the matter.

It was learned that they were yet to establish contact with the abductors 48 hours after his kidnap at Iwoye bridge end of the Itoikin-Epe road.

It was gathered that the abductors whisked their victims away from the scene through the waterways behind the ADC plane crash cenotaph.

When Vanguard visited the home of the fire boss, yesterday, the family wore gloomy faces, standing in groups, discussing reasons that could have warranted Rasaki’s abduction on Saturday.

Also, the family shielded the wife of the fire boss, Yemisi, from the public, in a bid to prevent unnecessary visits.

Sources said that the wife had been worried that her husband, who left home on Saturday with the assurance to return home, has been denied access by his family by the abductors.

It was stated that family members have begun to organise prayer sessions for the safe return of the breadwinner.

The kidnappers are yet to establish contact.

A source close to the family stated that their concern was the abductors’ decision not to contact the family or relatives, to ascertain his whereabouts.

The source said that the family had ensured that their phone lines were available in anticipation that the abductors will contact them and explain reasons for their action and possible release. Police boss under pressure to secure release.

Vanguard gathered that the Lagos State Government has mounted pressure on the Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, to ensure immediate rescue of the fire boss.
